Goodman’s Good Mix – Concert Picks of the Week – August 6

Heather Gillis Band

Week Of:  August 6 - 12, 2018

Summary: Days Between and Days After

As Days Between come to a close, a lot is looking up for the week ahead.

Grateful Dead fans who are also Phish fans get to hope for a revival of something as stellar as the Back on the Tweezer show four years ago as Phish returns to Merriweather Post Pavilion on Saturday and Sunday night (never miss a Sunday show).  Both shows are followed by the first-ever afterparties at The Soundry with Pink Talking Fish.

DCMR is co-hosting the wonderful Heather Gillis Band at Hill Country DC on Sunday night. Click here to read why you should check out this extraordinary artist.

And some highlights for me personally?

TUESDAY NIGHT. The biggest must-see of the week in my book, Angélique Kidjo's Remain in Light/Femi Kuti & The Positive Force at Wolf Trap. Afterward I would quick make my way back to DC to catch the tail end of the always loving and mind-blowing Gordon Sterling Presents: The Gypsy Sally's Jam.

Other highlights for me are in BOLD below, along with more DCMR staff picks and some hidden gems (cool shows, often local artists) for every day of the week!
