Updated Mar 02 at 09:30 PM]  Ben Williams will be performing at City Winery in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, March 19.

DC Music Review had the honor of attending the album release show of Ben Williams, at NuBlu 151 in New York City, NY on Saturday, February 8.

A Grammy-winning artist and one of D.C.'s own, Williams released his sociopolitically charged album, I AM A MAN, on February 7.

The album title is a reference to the historic 1968 African American sanitation workers' strike in Memphis. The strike reminded Williams of the Black Lives Matter movement and the overall experience of the African American male in present day. An experience, that unfortunately is not much different from back in 1968.
