Week Of:  March 25 - 31, 2019

Summary: A Wammie of a Week in Washington DC

Spring has sprung and it feels so very good outside in the DMV. Some very cool highlights this week:

  • There are so many LOCAL ARTISTS making music this week, including DC-based Nah. (featured above) who are releasing a full length album on March 29 and celebrating with a show on Friday at Pearl Street Warehouse. Formed in 2015 with the intention to "communicate better about mental health and healing," their songwriting is personal, melodies transfixing, musicianship heartfelt, and their ability to reach out and connect with the audience makes you feel like you're among friends.
  • DIRECT CURRENT, "the Kennedy Center's two-week celebration of contemporary culture, returns for a second season. Training its focus on new works, interdisciplinary creations in which artistic worlds collide, and innovative responses to topical concerns, the 2019 spring immersion showcases some of the most provocative, original, and pioneering voices in the arts today."
