The “No Boys Shebang” concert to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer research

The first No Boys Shebang, a concert benefiting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is set for Sunday, May 26 hosted by Ava Mirzadegan’s “No Boys Allowed” blog. The blog is a DC-based music blog and radio show dedicated to women and non-binary musicians.

Mirzadegan, explains that this event is close to her heart. “Two years ago, I lost my mother to the disease and it  changed the course of my life entirely.” Since then she has worked to  coordinate benefits and events to aid the cause.

Aside from 100% of proceeds going to the charity, this concert will highlight female artists. “The sentiment behind "no boys" is less of an anti-men separatist thing and more about our disdain for the patriarchy and boy-ness,” said Mirzadegan.

A few of the girlboss performers have been announced on Mirzadgan’s blog. There will be two DJ sets, one by DJ Meeshka (debuting her first DJ set at the event) and another by Girl IRL. Plus a huge treat will be performances by Hannah Epperson, Blush Face, Jules Hale, and Bluish.

Notably, Hannah Epperson has received recent accolades for merging the distinct worlds of indie and classical genres through her violin, looping pedals, and various electronic sounds. Her 2016 album, Upsweep, and 2018 album, Slowdown, have brought her to the attention of many as her sound is so unique and almost impossible to categorize. She will be opening for indie rock band, The Dirty Projectors, on their current tour as well.

“It’s going to be a privilege to perform on the same line up as Hannah Epperson, she is a looping wizard, and makes beautiful and delicate folk pop,” said fellow performer Michelle Kim (DJ Meeshka).

The event will also include vintage clothing booths, tarot cards, and drinks. It will be one not to miss for the cause and for the artists. (But if you must miss, you can still donate to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network by clicking here):

The Michael Schenker Fest Destroyed Rams Head Live In Baltimore

The Michael Schenker Fest Destroyed Rams Head Live In Baltimore With A Fury Of Guitar-Mastery

The Michael Schenker Fest came through Baltimore via Rams Head Live on Tuesday, May 14, and let me say flat out that they left a hefty wake of rock-and-roll music that amazed my musical taste buds to the hilt.  Armed with a super-talented band of musicians and four different singers that span Schenker’s lenghty career, the boys held nothing back as they tore through over 30 songs that clocked in just shy of three hours of non-stop playing.

It’s difficult to figure out a good starting point to describe the impact that Michael has had on the development of the hard-rock music scene dating back to his early days with UfO, as well as a member and early contributor to a young and developing Scorpions.

Starting the show was Michael sharing about the passing of his recent drummer, Ted McKenna, and keyboardist/guitarist Paul Raymond from UFO and MSG. He sincerely  expressed his gratitude and love for his dear friends, telling them he would see them again in heaven. He then spun into a delicious, crowd sing-along “Holiday” while taking on the vocals himself.

Talking about his contributions with the Scorpions, more directly about his older brother Rudolf, Michael jokingly referred to himself as a “pretty nice brother” for helping lead Rudolf in a direction that helped The Scorpions define early metal-music, as well as sharing his love and passion of the Flying-V guitar.  Schenker has his own line of Flying-V’s with Dean Guitars, and may I suggest to any guitar fan or collector that they are worth checking out because they are some of the coolest and most distinguishable guitars on the market.

Part of the Flying-V design has helped define Schenker's playing style.  While he steadies the guitar on his leg, this enables him to use vibrato with his left hand while hammering the heck out of his musical-machine.  This man is incredible to watch, almost with awe and disbelief which speaks to his ability as he has mastered his trade for going on 50 years.  At the age of 64, he seems to be having the time of his life because he doesn’t stop smiling the entire performance all while leaving nothing but traces of musical genius and prowess in his path.

Michael SchenkerFest

Guaranteed the band couldn’t fit one more song into their setlist without taking them over the three-hour mark.  As incredible as that is, you just don’t see that very often in a band’s repertoire of live shows.  Not only is it a long performance, it has got to be draining.  This is nothing short of a high-energy, rock-show full of onstage antics, solos, and raw enthusiasm.  Bassist Chris Glen took it upon himself to direct his own lighting  show wearing a pair of laser-light sunglasses that he beamed around the audience.

The music definitely highlighted the many facets that Schenker has been a part of throughout his career.  Included were a few Scorpion’s songs including the opener “Holiday” and “Coast to Coast” off of the career launching album Lovedrive (1979). The band definitely highlighted their new material from the Michael Schenker Fest, and also dug deep from the Michael Schenker Group (MSG), the McAuley Schenker Group, and of course the UFO catalog.

Michael SchenkerFest

To say that the entire set was a highlight from the show would not be far reaching.  Experiencing Michael Schenker for the first time was a real treat, but to see the format of the different singers throughout the show was incredible.  Vocalists Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, Robin McAuley, and Doogie White had such camaraderie on the stage, yet each singer brought a different sound and delivery to the show.  Each front-man had their time to shine with their own songs, but the cool part was when the boys shared the stage and each took turns collaborating on certain songs such as the heavy hitting “Warrior”.  None of them wanted to steal the spotlight, but you could definitely see the challenges that they were laying before each other as if to say, “Hey, top that”.

“Anytime” (1989) with Robin McAuley was very nostalgic taking me back to the days of MTV Headbangers Ball and the heyday of the power ballad.  “Heart and Soul” was easily the heaviest song of the night, completely full and punching with heavy drums and guitars, bass kicking you in the face, and another song led by all of the members of the singing quartet.  “Vigilante Man”, “Take me to the Church”, and “Lord of the Lost and Lonely” were knocked out of the park by the kilt-wearing Scotsman Doogie White.

You could tell the show was heating up to lead into a strong, blazing finish.  Saving his old UFO songs for the end, Schenker proceeded to play what I must say has got to be one of the best guitar solos I have ever seen, hands down.  “Rock Bottom” entranced the audience as Michael handled his flying-v with dominance and precision.  Standing in practically the same spot for nearly ten minutes, the focus that he put forth into what his hands and fingers were doing was very intense, all while the bass, drums, and keys were keeping the pace all so tight. Ouch!

Winding down the show with “Shoot Shoot”, “Natural Thing”, and “Lights Out”, this capped off an evening that was far superior than what I had imaginatively expected.  Guitarist/Keyboardist Steve Mann, Chris Glen on Bass, and newly added drummer Bodo Schopf taking over for Ted McKenna, were fantastic.  This group of highly seasoned players know they belong in this band with the highly-acclaimed guitarist Schenker, and make it obvious during the gig as they fervently help to rattle the roof of the Rams Head in Baltimore.

Michael Schenker Fest recently wrapped up their 2019 North American ‘Resurrection’ Tour in Austin, TX.  If you missed it, you’ll have to wait for it to come ‘round again.  In the meantime, there is plenty of Michael Schenker music out there to wet your whistles for the next tour.

Jackie Greene Continues East Coast Tour at the DC City Winery

On Thursday May 16 Jackie Greene came to DC to play at the City Winery.  After a short break, following opener Elise Davis, Jackie Greene took the stage, and commented that it’s great to play at the City Winery but kind of funny because “I don’t know sh*t about wine.” As they often do for artists who play there, the City Winery made a special wine featuring his tour.

Jackie Greene at DC City Winery

Playing with Greene was Nathan Dale. Dale has played with Jackie Greene for years including two appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. They opened the City Winery show  with “ I Don’t Live In A Dream” next was “I’m So Gone”. Greene invited the audience to “not be so proper” and a number of people took him up on the offer, dancing, singing and calling out song requests. Greene played “New Speedway Boogie” and even more people started to sing along causing him to comment jokingly  that there are more deadheads here than I thought. The multi instrumental Greene played the harmonica on what he called an old song “ Honey, I’ve Been Thinking About You”.

Jackie Greene at DC City Winery

Greene who played a nice mix of songs said, “It’s tough to play 20 years of songs in one night.” Some in the audience called for him to try.

Jackie Greene at DC City Winery

Greene commented on the dancers in the crowd and reminded the men that ladies like to dance. Some of the men took the advice from “Dr. Jackie” and got up to dance, even as he joked not to take medical advice from musicians.

Greene interacted often with the audience during the evening, and he talked about Facebook and how he doesn’t really use it. He also assured the fans that he didn’t really leave a suitcase of money on a train, as was posted by an imposter trying to make a few bucks. He joked that everyone should know it wasn’t him by asking “When have I ever carried a briefcase?”

Jackie Greene at DC City Winery

Showing his instrumental versatility Greene got out his banjo for “Tupelo” and then played Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice.” Greene went to the piano and played a few songs including”Silver Lining” which he told us was more like the original version. We learned that it was written originally for the piano before making its way to the guitar. Towards the end of the set Greene went back to the guitar for “Animal” before he finished the set with “Ball and Chain”. Greene thanked everyone for coming and for supporting live music “so we can pay our rent”.

The encore was “I’ll Let You In” which he described as a quiet ballad and  old song that we never do.

Jackie Greene at DC City Winery

Greene made it clear that he loves the DC area except for the traffic which he commented on several times. A few locals joked at least it isn’t raining or snowing.

DC area fan favorite. Cris Jacobs Band will be playing with Jackie Greene for the following California shows:

JUN 6 THU,  The Observatory North Park San Diego, CA

JUN 7 FRI,  Golden State Theatre Monterey, CA

JUN 8 SAT,  The Fillmore  San Francisco, CA

Elise Davis at DC City Winery

Elise Davis who opened, played some of the songs for the first time in concert. They will be on the new album she is making. Davis opened with “She’s Looking for Someone You Can Believe In.” She played a song about climate change, which scares her, but she didn’t want it to sound preachy so she wrote it as a song to love the earth. She closed with “Married Young” a song off Cactus her last album.

Escort Lights Up The Night With New Lead Singer Nicki B. [Photo Recap]

Fresh off the release of their latest album, City Life, New York city disco outfit Escort weren't just debuting their new tunes at their D.C. gig. Former lead vocalist Adeline departed the band late last year, providing former back up vocalist Nicki B. a chance to step into the spotlight.

To say Nicki B. was born to perform would almost be an understatement; clad in a neon green sports bra, Doc Martens covered in silver glitter, oversized black pants, and last but not least alien pasties, it's no surprise that she thrives as the center of attention.

Nicki B. kept the audience extremely energized with her Madonna-esque vougeing and booty shaking. Easily the highlight of the night, she jumped into the crowd and danced with various audience members, encouraging them to give her booty a smack as she got down and funky.

Filling the shoes of the iconic Adeline is no easy feat, but Nicki B. has proven that she is up to the task. Here at DC Music Review, we are keen to see how Escort continues to evolve with the fresh burst of energy that Nicki B. injects as the bands lead.

New Mastersounds at Union Craft Brewery, Baltimore MD

New Mastersounds Funk up the DMV

The New Mastersounds (NMS) took the stage at Union Craft Brewing, last week on May 8. New Mastersounds is celebrating their 20th anniversary, formed in Leeds, UK, in 1999. Approximately 400 people came out on a Wednesday night to listen to and experience the full range of funk, soul and jazz sounds of NMS.

The New Mastersounds is comprised of Eddie Roberts (guitar), Simon Allen (drums), Pete Shand (bass guitar), and Joe Tatton who joined the band in 2007 (organ/piano).

They started the show with “Take What You Need,” which first appeared on their 2008 album Plug and Play. Throughout the night, NMS showed why they have been popular around the world for so many years. During the first set they played old favorites “Give Me A Minute,” which was released as a single in 2004 and “Six Underground” from their second album Be Yourself, which came  out in 2003. The album Be Yourself allowed NMS to follow the path of Eddie’s musical influences and experience and really be themselves.

The first set ended with the soulful voice of Lamar Williams Jr singing the title track of their new album, “Shake It,” which was released in a single a last week during New Orleans JazzFest where they played a number of shows. The second set opened with “Kings and Queens”. This set was also a mix of new and old music.

Lamar Williams Jr. sat in with NMS in 2018, the chemistry was obvious and the fit was great. In addition to joining the 2019 tour, Williams will be on the new album Shake It which was recorded in Denver.  Lamar has also sat in with The Allman Brothers Band, Oteil and Friends, and was the lead singer of Les Brers.

Shake It, will be out September 13 on Eddie Roberts’ Color Red label and can be preordered now at  http://bit.ly/CRED-ShakeItPreorder  In advance of the record, NMS have shared the record's first single, "Let's Go Back (feat. Lamar Williams Jr.)" and you can listen here: bit.ly/CRED-lets-go-back. It's currently available on all DSPs including Spotify, AppleMusic and YouTube. Check out last years (November 2018) studio album, The Nashville Session 2 and the The New Mastersounds live from Paste Studio NYC May 16.

It was hard to tell who was having more fun - the band or the audience; Roberts said everyone was having a great time, but it might be the band as well.

New Mastersounds at Union Craft Brewery, Baltimore MD

He went on to say - “We have had such a great time here. Union Craft Brewing is a beautiful place. It has been such a blast. Everyone here is great and they have taken such good care of us. I’ve been beer tasting all day and hasn’t affected my playing, well maybe it made it a little better - a little more fluid. Thanks to all the fans who came to see us tonight.  I love that people travel so much in this area. Now that I’ m a DC native, I’m starting to realize that everyone jumps around between DC, Baltimore and even Richmond. I'm very happy to be living around the parts with so many faithful funky followers of the music.”

New Mastersounds at Union Craft Brewery, Baltimore MD

Union Craft Brewing's new facility, which opened in 2018, is designed for concerts as well as just hanging out. It is family and dog friendly. The fans were drinking excellent beer served by a knowledgeable attentive crew who were clearly enjoying the show as much as the patrons.

The summer tour continues up the east coast and beyond, including May 17-18 at the Brooklyn Bowl. June 7-8 Central Jazz Festival In CO,  July 4 NMS will be playing High Sierra Music Festival 2019 in Quincy, CA. They will also be heading back to Leeds, UK this September for a dual 20th anniversary party at The Wardrobe. The next chance to see NMS in the area is July 11 at the Union Stage at the DC Wharf and the 13 at The Ardmore Music Hall in PA.

U Street Funks It Up For the 2019 Funk Parade

The 2019 DC Funk Parade was a FUNK-tastic event held in the vibrant and ever-evolving U Street Corridor in downtown Washington, DC. Now celebrating its sixth-edition, it is hard to imagine life in DC without this sincere and joyous celebration of its musical roots and vibrant music scene. Six months ago The Musicianship took over the management and execution of the parade and it did not disappoint.

"Funk Parade is a one-of-a-kind day fair, parade and music festival, celebrating Washington DC's vibrant music and arts, the U Street neighborhood, and the Spirit of Funk that brings us all together."

    // DC Funk Parade

The day's events started off with the very relevant #DontMuteDC Conference. As DC's Landscape has changed, so too have the issues affecting DC's residents and business. (Note: You can find the conference video embedded at the bottom of the article).

Almost every street corner was filled with music at the 2019 DC Funk Parade

Almost every street corner was filled with music at the 2019 DC Funk Parade

By noon the streets were still quiet, but you could see stagehands putting finishing touches on stages and bands preparing to pack in their equipment in. As we roamed the streets we came across members of Washington DC's emerging band Bencoolen. As they prepared to hit the stage they talked about their recently released album Daydream, tour, and future recording plans.

As we walked up and down the U Street Corridor, music poured out of official stages and impromptu street corner busking. No matter where you turned you could feel profound pride and deeply-rooted passion for the music performed by musicians and the genuine appreciation by every individual in attendance. Small children danced instinctively to the beat of the music and moved their arms about as they imitated the musicians on stage. Each block of the Funk Parade was filled with new music, new sights, and new cheers.

Soka Tribe performs at the 2019 DC Funk Parade

DC Music Review found new reasons to celebrate at every venue. At one venue we met a couple that was only married the day before wearing "Just Funk'n Married" and told us how they were enjoying their “Funkymoon”. One of the midday show stoppers was the all-out dance party held by the Soka Tribe group - a dance fitness studio that specializes in the rhythms and spirit of the Caribbean. It was easy to spot a Soka Tribe member as Carribean music filled the air, colorful outfits twirled about and ear-to-ear smiles permeated on the faces of all the tribe members.

Soka Tribe performs at the 2019 DC Funk Parade

Another reason for the smiles and reason for celebration was the weather, or better yet, dry weather. For the better part of a week all eyes were on the local weather forecast and anxious eyes paid attention to the weather and the skies above wondering if it would rain, would it just be cloudy, or would the rain hold off until later in the evening.

The Chuck Brown Band performs at the 2019 DC Funk Parade

The Chuck Brown Band performed to a die hard crowd in the rain.

It did rain, but only at the tail end of the Funk Parade. As luck would have it, the rain held off until late in the afternoon when the first raindrops fell as the trailing police car of the Parade approached its final turn onto U Street. Despite the rain, the prevailing attitude by many in attendance was, "You can either wait for the storm to pass or you can enjoy dancing in the rain." By the time the rain did come down on U Street, people were too festive and too funky to let an onslaught of rain spoil the party. Some attendees took refuge in the local watering holes and eateries while others took shelter under trees beside the African American War Memorial as the last band, the Chuck Brown Band, hit the main stage.

Fans flooded the street for this steel drum band

Despite the rain, or maybe because of the rain, a truly special moment happened at the Funk Parade: the PA system gave out during the Chuck Brown Band's performance and the band had to perform without vocals. As they performed one fan favorite after another, fervent audience members sang out aloud. There was no need for a PA system - the audience knew Chuck Brown's songs by heart. As the Chuck Brown Band left the stage - the last of the daylight performances - festival goers made their way home or went to catch a short bite before the evening performances started. If you decided to eat at Ben's Chili Bowl, you noticed a very large crowd spilling onto the street as a Carribean troop performed to hundreds of mesmerized fans gathered around two popup tents containing nearly a dozen steel drummers.

Fans flooded the street for this steel drum band

The best way to sum up the Funk Parade is that it was a genuine celebration of DC talent,  which oozed out of every nook of the festival. It was a celebration of DC and the many cultures that have intertwined themselves to make our city so wonderful. If you did not have the opportunity to attend DC's Funk Parade we can strongly encourage you to come out next May to celebrate DC, its music, its musicians, and its residents.

DC wanted and got the Funk!
Funk Parade

We look foward to May 2020 when once again the DC Deparment of Funk presents another edition of the Funk Parade, truly the subatomic particle of love!   We look forward to seeing you next year and celebrating the Funk Parade with you as we celebrate Washington DC and our community.

INDIANOLA Forges A New Path With Debut LP

In today’s crowded musical landscape, any artist lucky enough to strike gold with a popular song sees an obvious path ahead: Repeat whatever magic formula conjured it into existence, and enjoy your ride into fame and financial success. Not so for INDIANOLA’s Owen Beverly, whose 2016 song “Zero” has racked up over 670,000 Spotify streams and counting. Instead of revisiting the harsh vocal delivery and delicate acoustic guitar that catapulted “Zero” to success, INDIANOLA’s debut LP Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye shows Beverly’s interest exploring new avenues.

INDIANOLA's Owen Beverly

INDIANOLA's Owen Beverly

The band revealed the full set of new approaches at its album release show on May 8th at Pearl Street Warehouse.  Throwback tracks like “Everyday I Got the Blues” and “How Did I Get so Rock N’ Roll” showed a close kinship with foundational blues rock acts like Chuck Berry and ZZ Top, while others like “Fame Is A Mistress” featured the band in full-on stoner rock form, Beverly’s careless vocal inflections subsumed in noisy distortion like a southern Josh Homme. Some of the band’s most interesting work of the night explored a moodier and more atmospheric space. The opener “Too Good to Be True” and mid-set slow rockers “Awkward Phase” and “Write It in Blood” used reverby guitars and rich synth tones to explore a sonic area that is no stranger to Tennessee-based success. A similar pivot by fellow Nashville-native Kings of Leon captured popular appeal and launched the band into super stardom.

INDIANOLA's Owen Beverly

Whether INDIANOLA can follow a similar trajectory and take its new sounds to “Zero”-level fanhood remains to be seen. Regardless, the album sounds like a watershed moment for the band.

Kyle Travers of Travers Brothership sits in with Southern Avenue

Travers Brothership Barnstorm The DMV

Last week, Travers Brothership delivered an incredible two-night run in the DMV. First Travers Brothership headlined in Washington DC at Gypsy Sally's on May 8th, and the following night they opened for Southern Avenue at The 8x10 in Baltimore. For anyone in attendance and witnessed the raw energy of these two southern bands - Travers Brothership from Asheville, NC, or Southern Avenue from Memphis, TN - their ears will perk and take notice when the next performance is announced.

Travers Brothership Performs at Gypsy Sally's

On Wednesday, May 7th, Travers Brothership wowed a packed venue as they headlined with an hour of powerful, soulful, funky, bluesy, and psychedelic sounds. (Editor Note: Our photographer Josh Brick emphasized that psychedelic sound with his photo gallery)

Travers Brothership Performs at Gypsy Sally's

On Thursday, May 8th, these two rapidly up and coming bands from the south, combined efforts for a fantastic night of funk and blues at the 8x10 in Baltimore. Opening up the night was The Travers Brothership. Twin brothers Kyle and Eric Travers make up half of the band (Kyle plays lead guitar), and Eric is on drums. Ian McIsaac and Josh Clark make up the other half of the quartet on keys and bass, respectively. Their sound is soulful and funky, and they show great chemistry when they improvise, putting a psychedelic stamp on their songs and stretching them out with ease. Throughout the performances, Josh Clark, Eric Travers, and Kyle Travers shared singing duties that underscored the depth of talent this band possesses. Rich vocals stood out and on their own that weaved their way throughout the musical landscape of the night. Three distinct vocal styles accompanied seamless musical interplay, radiating solos, and vibrant peaks that highlighted the talent this band. These guys can definitely jam, and I am really looking forward to seeing them again soon whenever they pass through DC, Baltimore or anywhere in the DMV.

Tikyra Jackson of Southern Avenue

With the crowd fully warmed up and loose, Memphis based act Southern Avenue took the stage. Another band featuring siblings, sisters Tierinii and Tikyra Jackson on vocals and drums, and Ori Naftalay and Jeremy Powell on guitar and keys. Unfortunately, Tierinii was suffering from a sore throat and was not able to sing at the 8x10. However, her sister Tikyra did a fantastic job filling in. I was doubly impressed as I've always heard how hard it is to drum and sing at the same time. Also, I should note that even though Tierinii couldn't sing, she still walked on stage and got down with the same great energy she has when she's performing. This band has been making a lot of noise down south, and with a new self-titled album out on Stax Records, they're sure to be spreading their funky soul sounds all over the country sooner rather than later.

Tikyra Jackson of Southern Avenue
The Travers brothers sit in with Southern Avenue

After rocking the crowd for several songs on their own, they invited the Travers Brothership on stage for a collaboration jam, a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition." This was a real treat; you could tell these two bands have played together before, and the chemistry was on full display. The interplay between the musicians was exceptional, both guitar players traded killer solos, and the crowd ate up every second of these extended jam.

The Travers brothers sit in with Southern Avenue

With their Baltimore performance in the books, Southern Avenue put the finishing touches on their American tour before heading off for a few concerts in European tour before returning to the United States. The Travers Brothership continues to tour Mid Atlantic and the Carolina's before headng out west in July.

If you're a fan of soul, funk, and psychedelic jams, these two bands are not to be missed if they are in your town. Both acts are coming up fast and will be playing more and more shows in bigger venues in no time. We have taken notice of each band and not only will they be playing more shows in larger concert halls, but each has been invited to more prominent festivals.

Southern Avenue will return again to the DMV on August 17th at Music In The Blue Ridge when they perform with Sister Sparrow.  Look for Travers Brothership in the DMV when they return to the area on July 24th for FloydFest and once again on August 17th at Hot August Music Festival. In particular we are very excited to see Travers Brothership at Hot August Music Festival.

Amo Amo To Join Jim James In A Double Feature At The 9:30 Club

"Not only are the lyrics encapsulating a vulnerability that can only be experienced if you've been in a deep, earth-shattering love, but the instrumentals speak volumes in and of themselves." - Indie Shuffle

Psychedelic dream pop group Amo Amo is taking to the 9:30 Club stage for a double feature this Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18.

In a unique twist, the band will open for the individual responsible for producing their new record: Jim James (of My Morning Jacket). The group, comprised of queer vocalist Love Femme, Omar Velasco, Justin Flint, Shane Mckillop, and Alex Siegel, got together with James for an impromptu session in Los Angeles in 2017.

What followed was an experience for the books. Venturing out to the vineyards of California with James for five months, the group took advantage of the lack of cell service to spur their creativity. The result? A collection of soulful, enchanting pop tracks.

Legendary mastering engineer Bob Ludwig (Led Zeppelin, Frank Ocean, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney) reflected on his experience working with Amo Amo, stating,

“Rarely do I come across a new band with as strong a sense of self-identity as Amo Amo...their live show is ecstatic."

Curious to witness their live show? Grab a ticket to one of the two nights the band is in D.C. to witness what is sure to be an epic night—of course, two-day passes are available for those ready to get funky.
